Meet Tracy Zihmer: Your Friendly Legal Expert

Hi, I'm Tracy. I founded Zihmer Law Firm in 2017, and I've practiced estate and trust law in Western Pennsylvania since 2013.

Today my own caseload is focused on one thing: helping families after a loss. If you've been named executor, or you're the one everyone is looking to now that a parent or spouse is gone, that's the work I do.

What I Do

Probate is a process with deadlines, court filings, inheritance tax returns, creditors, and family members who all want to know what happens next. Most people encounter it for the first time at the worst possible moment, and they're expected to get it right while they're grieving.

You don't have to learn all of that. I handle the process, from the filings and tax returns to the notices, the accounting, and the distributions, and I explain each step plainly so you always know where things stand and what's coming. When there's family tension, and there often is, I help keep things fair, documented, and moving.

I also handle trust administration for families whose loved one left a trust behind.

I founded this firm on the belief that a plan should actually work when a family needs it. I see what happens when it doesn't every day on the probate side, and that experience shapes how our firm approaches planning. You'll be in excellent hands.

A Little About Me

I'm a magna cum laude graduate of West Virginia University and Duquesne University School of Law, where I was published in the Duquesne Law Review. I'm admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

My roots are in Western Pennsylvania, where I grew up and still live with my husband, Andrew, our kids, Madelyn and Owen, and our dogs, Maverick and Belle. Our office is in McMurray, right on the Allegheny–Washington county line, which makes us easy to reach from either side.

When I'm not at the office, I love planning a trip to Disney World, playing with the kids in the backyard, and exploring restaurants around the city.
